Financial Donations Needed to Support:

• Water bill
• Phones
• Electricity (ZESA)
• School fees, uniforms, supplies
• Baby formula
• Food assistance, although there is a small area to grow some basic fruits/vegetables
• Although the majority of staff will be unpaid sisters of the Order, there are likely to be some paid staff, including accounting / bookkeeping, maintenance and repair staff.
• Basic administrative costs (office equipment, supplies, printing/postage, computer/fax costs, internet costs)
• To the extent possible, it is requested by Sister Bhobho that the younger novice sisters be assisted with some of the “O” level school fees while they are volunteering at the new orphanage.

In-Kind Donations Needed to Support:

In terms of their immediate needs, Sister Bhobho listed the following items:

• Sleeping furniture for up to 15 sisters + children (the sisters are sleeping on the floor)
• Bedding / blankets
• Peanut butter machine
• Fax machine (one was donated in June 2007; need to verify it was released from Customs)
• Printers (2) - (one was donated in June 2007; need to verify it was released from Customs)
• Computers (2): each with internet access (dial up) – (one laptop delivered in 6/2007; internet access is pending)
• Olive processing machine
• Grinding mill
• Poultry pen needs (feeds, fencing, etc.)
• Fertilizer for the modest ¾ acreage for garden
• Battery for their only car
• Lawn mower
• Washing machine / dryer
• Financial support for the small operations currently available

In terms of longer term needs, we have not yet determined what resources will be provided by the existing construction donor to set up the new children’s homes (furniture, kitchen eqpt, bedding, beds, chairs, tables, curtains, towels, etc.) nor what equipment would be needed for the administration block once it is completed.   We also have not yet determined what sort of transportation vehicle(s) would eventually be needed.   It is assumed they will need additional financial support once the new campus construction is completed, inspected and certified.   In addition, they may need basic medical supplies (first aide) and vitamins for the children and possibly baby formula for the infant.
